The Lab Assistant provides customer service by way of technical and facilities support for students and faculty within the lab or classroom environment. This consists of ensuring that the lab facility (or classroom), computing and related equipment, and working areas are in clean, fully usable condition and enable students to work effectively. Technical support extends to troubleshooting general computing or printing issues and providing knowledge support to users of the key applications provided in each lab. In addition to maintaining the lab facility and providing knowledge support, the Lab Assistant enforces posted policies and procedures, such as those relating to use of equipment and maintaining a clean, safe, secure environment in the labs. The Lab Assistant performs additional responsibilities as required. Lab Assistants report to a Lab Lead.
