About The Position

We are looking for a Lab Assistant who is enthusiastic about biological science and who wants to work with our team in Morrisville, NC to support the testing and development of our products. In this role, you will report to the Director of Innovation working with other scientists to make a lasting, positive impact on our ecosystem for the health and well-being of people and animals. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, entomology, biotechnology or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience including 1 year hands-on laboratory experience
  • Affinity for biological sciences
  • Willingness and ability to work with insects, arachnids, and other target species
  • Basic math skills including the ability to work with fractions, ratios, division & multiplication
  • Knowledge of scientific techniques including accurately weigh, measure and follow mixing instructions
  • Familiarity with the metric system and dilutions is required
  • Ability and motivation to learn new techniques
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required
  • Excellent organizational and record keeping skills with high attention to detail
  • Must have solid verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of biochemistry and entomology
  • Understanding and/or experience with different statistical methods to analyze data
  • Ability to develop and improve testing methodologies and assays

Responsibilities

  • Support pesticide (insecticide, herbicide, etc.) and repellent development by conducting bioassays under laboratory and field conditions
  • Assist senior scientists with formulation preparation and evaluations including stability programs
  • Collect and summarize data; Deliver results and recommendations both orally and in written reports
  • Prepare test containers for efficacy evaluations
  • Work both independently and within a small team with minimum supervision
  • Provide input into new test protocol development and align methods with decision goals
  • Assist with the collection, maintenance, and rearing of select insect species
  • Perform tasks in a safe manner and follow all environmental and company guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
