About The Position
SCOPE: Perform routine medical lab tests for the diagnosis and treatment of patients as directed by the clinicians and lab director.
Requirements
- High School or GED required
- Completion of Clinical Medical Assistant program with Phlebotomy required
- Medical Assistant (AAMA / CMA) CA/National required
Nice To Haves
- CA Phlebotomy License preferred
Responsibilities
- Specimen collection and venipuncture.
- Perform Injections.
- Maintain daily/weekly/monthly logs and documents.
- Run daily QC and perform routine maintenance on hematology analyzer for MD or CLS review and approve patient processing.
- Accept results automatically recorded by the hematology analyzer in LIS for MD review.
- Perform Quarterly proficiency testing.
- Perform Waived lab tests.
- Specimen Handling, processing, and send out to reference labs.
- Assist bone marrow biopsy, prepare specimen for transport
- Maintain orders and supplies
- Maintain lab facility
- Admin duties as assigned by manager
