About The Position

The Laboratory Assistant plays a crucial role in performing various laboratory duties to ensure high service levels for both internal and external customers. The position has three levels, with increasing proficiency in laboratory tasks such as customer service, phlebotomy, and specimen processing, contributing to the overall mission of Glens Falls Hospital to provide exceptional, affordable, and patient-centered care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare or customer service environment preferred.
• Proficient in medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to use a computer and required applications.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, policies, and procedures.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory duties to support internal and external customers.
• Provide laboratory customer service to patients and staff.
