The Lab Assistant position at Sharp Healthcare involves providing technical knowledge and expertise to support laboratory services.   • Documentation and processing of lab results
  • Assists with pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical test processes
  • Completes assigned duties and responsibilities without error using written policies and procedures
  • Performs new procedures and policies within acceptable training time intervals
  • Evaluates work performed for accuracy and verifies questionable findings
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
  • Performs clerical functions related to patient reception and noninvasive sample collection
  • Utilizes all equipment and tools per manufacturer's instructions
  • Demonstrates competency and efficient use of all tool applications and equipment
  • Performs and validates required preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment/tools
  • Reports and documents equipment/tool/reagent issues and failures
  • Actively manages inventory expiration dates and evaluates consumables inventory
  • Removes defective equipment from use and notifies appropriate personnel for repair
  • Completes and validates daily position tasks within expected timeframes
  • Proactively initiates communication and works cooperatively with others
  • Establishes effective working relationships between internal and external customers
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in work practices
  • Coordinates and completes processes to meet quality testing standards
  • Assists in identifying errors or variances and follows through with investigation
  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
