The Position We advance science so that we all have more time with the people we love. Roche Diagnostics acquired Stratos Genomics in 2020 for its unique chemistry that advances DNA sequencing by nanopore, Sequencing by Expansion (SBX™). We are seeking driven, self-motivated, and passionate individuals looking to start a career in a fast-paced lab. The position will play an integral role in day-to-day operations as we develop our novel DNA sequencing technology. This position will be based at Roche Diagnostics Seattle. Requirements

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You have solid computer skills, including experience with Excel.
  • You have very good organization skills and attention to detail.
  • You have a strong analytical ability.
  • You have a keen ability to listen to directions and execute them accurately.
  • You have good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all organization levels. You are open to feedback and continuous growth.
  • You have the ability to work safely and professionally with or on Roche Diagnostic Seattle's property.

Nice To Haves

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree focused in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics or Engineering field.
  • You have previous laboratory or research experience.

Responsibilities

  • You will order and track laboratory supplies.
  • You will maintain and repair equipment and pipetman.
  • You will perform routine laboratory maintenance and upkeep, including glassware and vial cleaning.
  • You will maintain the lab’s cleanliness and organization.
  • You have a continuous growth mindset, a curious nature, and a desire to deeply understand your roles and responsibilities.
  • You will complement the positive and dynamic Central Services (CS) team, lending support to the CS manager and other laboratory assistants.
  • You can quickly and effectively interpret directions into appropriate and efficient actions.
  • You will develop and propose improved processes to fulfill the above functions.
  • You will execute other duties as assigned.
  • You will adhere to Roche Diagnostic Seattle’s policies and support management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner.
