The Frostig lab research interest is in cortical plasticity as manifested in basic and pre-clinical research using functional imaging, blood flow imaging, neuronal recordings, pharmacological manipulations, histological and behavioral studies in rodents. For our basic research we are currently researching plasticity induce by our 'extended naturalistic habitat' a special environment that imitates rodents' natural environment, and for pre-clinical research we are interested in sensory stimulation-based plasticity that protects the cortex from ischemic stroke. Under supervision, the incumbent will help in maintaining and supervising our naturalistic habitat, conduct behavioral training, perform routine surgical procedures in rats/mice for functional and blood imaging experiments, handle rodents, prepare reagents, routine histology, routine data analysis, contribute to laboratory maintenance, order supplies, and prepare the lab for inspections.
