The Hadland lab is seeking a part-time Lab Aide to perform routine laboratory tasks and contribute to research projects in a collaborative laboratory environment researching the mechanisms of hematopoietic stem cell development and leukemogenesis. The focus of our lab is to unravel the dynamic intercellular interactions and signal pathways governing the generation of blood and immune cells during embryonic development and apply this knowledge toward engineering novel approaches for the study and treatment of blood and immune disorders. Job Summary: Perform routine work in a clinical or research laboratory. The incumbent works under the close supervision of the Lab Manager or other lab personnel.

Requirements

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent; OR, High school senior with lab-based experience or demonstrated interest in the sciences

Nice To Haves

  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Some lab experience and/or college-level biology/chemistry courses

Responsibilities

  • Assist with experiments and set-up under the supervision of the Lab Manager and Postdoctoral Fellow, including the following:
  • Prepare media and reagents.
  • Perform simple cell culture tasks.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures as directed.
  • Perform clerical duties as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
