The Talbot Lab (Basic Sciences Division) is seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented individual to support ongoing, exciting research on neuro-immunology, gut microbiota, and infectious diseases. This is ideal for an individual interested in an entry-level introduction to a research lab environment, particularly those with an interest in the management and husbandry of mouse colonies. This position is well-suited for individuals interested in a steady part-time role with flexible hours. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent; OR, High school senior with lab-based experience or demonstrated interest in the sciences

Nice To Haves

Completion of college-level coursework in biology.
Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree.
Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new software systems.
Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets.
Ability to learn new tools and content quickly and independently.
Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with regular maintenance of our mouse colony, which consists of an animal biopsy, breeding, and weaning.
Maintain electronic spreadsheet for the mouse colony.
General lab cleaning and organization.
Assisting lab members with experiments.
Perform other duties as required.
