About The Position

East Side Clinical Laboratory, a leader in the medical laboratory industry, is seeking a Medical Lab Aide to join our Garden City Team because we are growing! In this role, you will independently obtain, receive, and prepare laboratory specimens for analysis, review specimen acceptability, assist in storage of specimens, and notify Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician (MLS/MLT) of any problems with specimens received. You will build work lists of specimens received within the department and load specimens on analyzers to keep work flowing. Additionally, you may conduct quality control testing under the direct supervision of MLS/MLT, report any QC problems, record and file data obtained, and complete scheduled instrument maintenance according to established protocol. You may also perform limited laboratory tests and record results under the direct supervision of MLS/MLT, notify MLS/MLT when lab results are ready for review and release, assist with inventory control and reporting, and may be responsible for the storage and rotation of reagents. You may assist in training department personnel and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School degree
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred
  • Previous laboratory experience, preferred
