About The Position

The men’s and women’s cross-country coach is a part-time position responsible for all phases of the men’s and women’s cross-country program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to promoting, coaching, recruiting, evaluating current and prospective student-athletes, and performing public relations for the program.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required or equivalent combination of training and experience required
  • Successful coaching and recruiting experience are required; at the collegiate level is preferred.
  • Current CPR/AED certification, or ability to attain.
  • Clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate student-athletes performance and design plans/strategies for continued improvement.
  • Provide individual and group instruction focused on technical improvement.
  • Schedule, organize, and oversee practices and meets.
  • Develop a high-quality recruitment program supported with a written, well-defined plan including cultivation of prospective student-athletes and scheduling campus visits.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with coaches at local high school, and four-year institutions.
  • Initiate statistical reporting, press releases, and handle public relations.
  • Assist the AD to ensure student-athletes remain eligible and stay on track to graduate.
  • Attend conferences, seminars, and meetings as permitted for professional development.
  • Educate athletes regarding KVCC travel policies.
  • Remain flexible with the work schedule that may include days, evenings, and weekends
