About The Position

We are seeking a talented individual to join our OpenStack Platform Operations team at Marsh McLennan. This role can be based in Louisville KY; Urbandale, IA; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; or Phoenix, AZ. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters in a dynamic, high-availability environment, working closely with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to ensure the smooth deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in managing Kubernetes clusters using tools such as kubectl, Helm, or Kustomize.
• In-depth knowledge of container technologies, including Docker.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Kubernetes services (EKS, GKE, AKS).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Understanding of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, or Go).

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters (on-premises or cloud-based).
• Ensure the high availability, scalability, and reliability of Kubernetes environments.
• Perform upgrades and patch management for Kubernetes and its associated components.
• Manage and troubleshoot deployments using Helm charts, manifests, or other CI/CD tools.
• Monitor and optimize Kubernetes resources, such as pods, nodes, and namespaces.
• Implement and enforce Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, network policies, and secrets management.
• Provide technical guidance and support to developers and DevOps teams.
• Maintain detailed documentation of Kubernetes configurations and operational processes.
