About The Position

ITTConnect is seeking an experienced Kubernetes Engineer to work for a client that is a global leader in consulting, digital transformation, technology and engineering services present in nearly 50 countries. End client is in the telecom industry. The Kubernetes Engineer plays a critical role in designing, building, operating, and securing our client's container platforms, with a focus on Kubernetes-based PaaS (Platform as a Service) environments. This role ensures high availability, performance, security, and lifecycle management of Kubernetes platforms across Lab, Non-Prod, and Production environments. The Kubernetes Engineer works cross‑functionally with cloud, cybersecurity, compute, network, and application teams to deliver resilient and automated platform services aligned with Product Management and CCOE strategies

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Kubernetes engineering, platform engineering, or cloud-native infrastructure roles.
  • Hands-on experience with some Kubernetes distributions (RKE2, AKS, EKS, GKE, VMware Tanzu, or upstream).
  • Experience with Prometheus and Grafana
  • Experience with OpenLens and other K8s management tools
  • Strong understanding of container orchestration, container runtimes, registries, and image security.
  • Expertise with infrastructure automation and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible, FluxCD/ArgoCD, Helm ).
  • Experience with Linux system administration and OS-level troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of networking concepts (CNI, load balancers, service mesh, DNS, ingress/egress).
  • Experience with CSI persistent storage solutions and cluster storage migrations.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tooling: CI/CD, GitOps, monitoring/observability, vulnerability scanning.
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust and cybersecurity controls in production environments.
  • Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, CKS).
  • Experience with GKE and enterprise virtualization platforms.
  • Experience designing Kubernetes platforms for AI/GPU workloads.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate Kubernetes clusters (on‑prem and/or cloud) following standard reference architectures.
  • Implement and maintain Kubernetes add‑ons, CSI storage drivers, CNI network plugins, and ingress controllers.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of Kubernetes clusters and workloads.
  • Perform lifecycle upgrades of Kubernetes, OS, infrastructure software (GKE, Rancher), and supporting components.
  • Manage persistent storage solutions including migration to Dell CSI‑enabled PowerStore and Portworx.
  • Manage hardware lifecycle work for Kubernetes‑backed compute environments.
  • Implement and maintain vulnerability remediation workflows to achieve >90% SecureLens compliance.
  • Enable PAM authentication across Kubernetes and supporting OS layers.
  • Ensure clusters and workloads meet cybersecurity, data privacy, and lifecycle compliance requirements.
  • Support audits and remediate non‑compliant configurations.
  • Drive the transition from CentOS to supported and approved OS platforms.
  • Automate repetitive operational tasks, cluster provisioning, workload deployment, configuration, and compliance enforcement.
  • Contribute to product roadmaps, automation frameworks, and standard reference designs.
  • Participate in EPIC initiatives to reduce complexity and increase efficiency.
  • Assist with PPDM migrations for Kubernetes‑based backup workloads.
  • Contribute to patch testing frameworks using canary/ring deployment models.
  • Partner with CCOE intake, design, and fulfillment teams to deliver frictionless onboarding.
  • Ensure Kubernetes solutions align with lifecycle, security, and platform standards.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to extend platform knowledge across Cox.
  • Participate in customer feedback loops, roadshows, and product management routines.
  • Provide timely support for Rancher migrations and eventual decommissioning.
  • Support deployment of GPU‑enabled Kubernetes clusters.
  • Implement automation for provisioning GPU workloads.
  • Validate ServiceNow intake workflows for AI-native tenant designs.
  • Enhance New Relic dashboards for Kubernetes reliability and health.
  • Develop and publish right-sizing audit reports for cluster optimization and cost efficiency.
  • Track cluster capacity, growth, and licensing/tool usage.
  • Participate in monthly operational reviews.
