About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated, entry-level Controls Engineer to join our EV Battery Technology team. This role supports a multidisciplinary group of engineers and scientists developing EV battery systems using automation, robotics, inspection systems, and data acquisition equipment. The Controls Engineer will support control systems, software development, and industrial automation infrastructure, including PLC-based systems. This role collaborates closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of development and production equipment. Korean and English bilingual proficiency is required to support communication with Korean-speaking stakeholders and global teams.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in: Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electronics, Robotics, Computer Science or Software Engineering (with controls exposure)
  • Entry-level candidates are welcome; hands-on experience with software development or coding is required
  • Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems through academic coursework, vocational training, internships, or prior work experience is highly preferred
  • Basic understanding of control systems, automation equipment, and industrial processes
  • Familiarity with industrial communication networks and Windows-based systems is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both Korean and English (required)
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Logical and structured approach to debugging and system analysis
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and safety-focused
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and production teams
  • Clear communicator in both Korean and English
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn automation and control technologies

Responsibilities

  • Support PLC-based control systems used in automation and production environments
  • Assist with software development, coding, and debugging related to control and automation systems
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on the installation, configuration, and improvement of industrial control systems
  • Support automation hardware, networking equipment, sensors, robotics, and industrial computers
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and system support with production and maintenance teams
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and system performance optimization for control systems
  • Document control logic, system changes, troubleshooting activities, and daily reports
  • Coordinate with external vendors for advanced diagnostics, system upgrades, and support
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to automation efficiency, reliability, and safety
