How You'll Contribute Showcase Your Engineering Curiosity: Apply engineering fundamentals and structured problem-solving to bring new product ideas to life. Support the development and validation of components, subsystems, and full assemblies that define innovation in luxury design. Participate in technical feasibility studies and learn how data-driven decisions shape product excellence. Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work side-by-side with experts in Engineering, Marketing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Industrial Design. Be part of the conversations that shape tough decisions, explore trade-offs, and find creative paths forward. Help transform concepts into manufacturable products that meet the highest standards of performance and design. Engage with a Global Team: Collaborate with engineers across Kohler's worldwide Technical Centers and Centers of Excellence to share insights, support testing, and promote best practices in design efficiency and component reuse. Gain exposure to how global collaboration drives innovation and accelerates development. Drive Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas that improve product performance, sustainability, and process efficiency. Participate in design reviews and testing activities that push the boundaries of what's possible. Capture your learnings to strengthen team knowledge and leave a lasting impact on future products.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Foundational experience with 3D modeling and design tools (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to test, analyze, and solve technical problems independently, with guidance from senior engineers as needed.
  • Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on an on-going bases without company sponsorship
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to real product innovation: Support the design and development of new luxury products from early concept through testing and validation, working alongside engineers who bring ideas to market.
  • Develop and document specifications: Help translate customer insights, regulatory needs, and technical requirements into clear product documentation under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Apply and grow engineering skills: Use CAD tools to create 3D models, engineering drawings, and prototypes that support design reviews and performance testing.
  • Be part of the problem-solving process: Participate in product testing, data analysis, and root-cause investigations to enhance design performance and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with design, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to understand how products move from idea to production.
  • Share what you learn: Capture insights, lessons, and design improvements to strengthen team knowledge and continuous improvement efforts.
