Darkblade Systems is seeking a highly skilled and motivated enterprise level KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT LEAD to provide critical support to the Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), Deputy Chief of Staff, G-2 (Intelligence). Join a team of dedicated professionals responsible for applying advanced analytical methods, data science, and modeling to solve complex challenges facing U.S. Army intelligence. The Knowledge Management Lead will be a mission-critical subject matter expert (SME) responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining a comprehensive, enterprise-wide Knowledge Management program for the DCS G2. This position operates at a senior level, working independently on high-visibility programs to ensure that organizational knowledge assets-including doctrine, lessons learned, best practices, and decision-making rationale-are effectively captured, curated, shared, and leveraged across the organization. The Knowledge Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to senior staff and may oversee the efforts of less senior KM personnel and project teams.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required at the time of application. This position is not open for clearance sponsorship, upgrade, or reactivation.
  • Master's degree (MA/MS) in Knowledge Management, Information Science, Business Management, or a related field.
  • An additional two (2) years of relevant experience (total of 12 years) may be substituted for the MA/MS degree requirement.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level Knowledge Management programs within a large, complex organization, preferably within the DoD or Intelligence Community.
  • Proven ability to translate senior leader intent and Army doctrine (e.g., ADRP/FM 6-01.1) into actionable KM initiatives.
  • 3-5 years' experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related Languages (Node.js, GO).
  • Experience building internal APIs, microservices and automation scripts to support KMS.
  • Integration experience with enterprise systems via Rest, GraphQL or message queues (SNS, SQS, Kafka, etc.).
  • Ability to build backend pipelines to ingest, clean and normalize data from multiple sources.
  • Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with object storage for document repositories (general cloud skills).
  • Design and implementing enterprise knowledge management platforms (Confluence, Jira, Sharepoint, etc.)
  • Experience with design and implementation of custom-built portals.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with one or more of the following certifications are strongly preferred: Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM) or Certified Professional Knowledge Manager (CPKM) Certified Knowledge Specialist (CKS) in a relevant domain (e.g., Information Architecture, Taxonomy) Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) Certifications related to specific KM platforms (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint, ServiceNow). Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP)
  • Direct experience supporting the HQDA staff, particularly the Army G2.
  • Prior military experience, especially in Military Intelligence.
  • Experience working with joint (e.g., Joint Staff, COCOM) or other service-level intelligence organizations.
  • Familiarity with Army intelligence processes, systems, and architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Governance: Lead the design and execution of the G2's overarching KM strategy, aligning it with Army/DoD doctrine, mission priorities, and digital modernization initiatives.
  • Program Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain the KM framework, including governance, policies, standards (e.g., metadata, taxonomy), and content lifecycle management across various platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, etc.).
  • Knowledge Flow and Processes: Analyze and optimize organizational workflows to identify knowledge gaps and bottlenecks. Implement effective processes for the creation, capture, storage, retrieval, and disposition of mission-critical knowledge.
  • Technology Integration: Oversee the selection, deployment, and integration of KM tools and technologies, ensuring they are user-friendly, secure, and compliant with Army IT and cybersecurity standards.
  • Training and Culture: Develop and facilitate Communities of Practice (CoP), training programs, and workshops to foster a culture of knowledge-sharing, continuous learning, and KM adoption across the staff.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Develop and track performance metrics (e.g., usage analytics, user engagement, knowledge article effectiveness) to continuously assess and improve the KM program.
  • Senior Advising: Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations, decision papers, and correspondence to communicate KM initiatives and strategic recommendations to senior military and civilian leadership.
