About The Position

The Knowledge Management Content Developer will develop the content for Extremity Trauma and Amputation Center of Excellence (EACE) education and training projects with an emphasis on the delivery of quality continuing medical education (CME) to participants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Instructional design certification OR Minimum two (2) years of instructional design experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in instructional development
  • Possess experienced instructional developer with specific expertise in developing education content, to be used on various LMS platforms.
  • Ability to put on healthcare education programs from concept to the delivery of content and CME credit.
  • Ability performing education program support with such agencies as Defense Health Agency (DHA), the Department of Defense (DoD) Services, universities, private businesses, government institutions, and professional societies.
  • Experience designing educational content or curricula
  • Experience in the application of andragogy (adult learning theory)
  • Experience in the classroom setting in secondary or higher education.
  • Ability to obtain a favorable T1 investigation

Responsibilities

  • Design future and improve current enduring education modules through audience analysis
  • Determine training gaps matched to clinician needs.
  • Responsible for the execution of instructional module creation.
  • Evaluate and develop effective instructional materials in coordination with subject matter experts and based on topics of relevance as directed by Chief, Clinical Affairs or Chief Knowledge Management.
  • Create interactive educational modules to be archived on designated learning management systems (LMS) from the Limb Trauma Educational Series sessions.
  • Use advanced authoring tools such as Articulate to design instructional modules.
  • Develop messaging and support marketing strategies to communicate the availability, nature and benefits of educational programs and learning experiences offered by the EACE.
  • Submit required documentation and ensure all created educational modules are 508 compliant if necessary, prior to submitting for approval.
  • Create instructional modules from the material presented at each Federal Advanced Skills Training (FAST).
  • Advertise, conduct registration coordination, and monitor on EACE website and SharePoint sites for both asynchronous and synchronous activities.
  • Ensure that the EACE Clinical Affairs and Training Education LMS of enduring education is reviewed on a regular basis and maintained with all required FAST and enduring education module information to include registration links.
  • Support additional educational activities through CME acquisition, technology support, or instructional module creation as needed to meet mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.
