About The Position

The Knockout/Cutout Operator position at Precision Castparts Corp. involves working in the Airfoils division, specifically in Wickliffe, Ohio. The role is focused on the operations of manufacturing large, complex structural investment castings and airfoil castings. The operator will be responsible for various tasks including knocking out ceramic from foundry molds, verifying parts against paperwork, conducting alloy type tests using an X-ray spectrometer, and performing rough and precision cuts of castings using an abrasive cut-off saw. The operator must ensure proper placement of alloy for revert and maintain accurate documentation of work performed in Lot Control. Safety and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures are paramount in this role, along with maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.

Responsibilities

• Knock out ceramic from foundry molds with hammer.
• Verification of parts to paperwork.
• Alloy type test using X-ray spectrometer.
• Rough and precision cut of castings using abrasive cut-off saw.
• Trim parts using abrasive cut-off saw.
• Ensure proper placement of alloy for revert.
• Ensure proper paperwork is with foundry cast molds prior to Knock-Out.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Record all work performed in Lot Control.
• Keep the work area in a clean, orderly and safe working condition.
• Follow all safety rules.
• Comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
• Perform all other duties assigned by supervision.
