About The Position

This is full-time role for an experienced, talented Designer with a strong background in Knitwear. This individual should not only have knowledge working with elevated garments, but also have experience in all aspects of design from the development to production (i.e. launching new products from sketch). This Designer will be responsible for the research, development, sketching, tech packs and sample management for each season across multiple brands. The Knitwear Designer will also work effectively with cross functional partners to ensure product integrity and fit consistency. He or she will be an out of the box thinker and leader who exudes passion and knowledge within their role. The Knitwear designer will work across contemporary brands: Helsa, GRLFRND, LPA, Song of Style, L’Academie, House of Harlow (brands might change depending on style/skill level – multiple brands is the main idea!)

Requirements

Strong technical knitwear background. Must have understanding of yarns, stitches, and fully fashioned construction
Must understand relationship of yarn and stitch and be able to execute successful stitch development
Must be able to map/plan out yarn groups/concepts for the season in line with direction given.
Strong understanding of stitches/yarns in relationship to costing.
Strong sketching ability
Strong communication skills as this person will be working cross functionally and with many outside influencers
Strong sense of urgency and able to prioritize deadlines accordingly
Must be organized and able to juggle multiple deadlines and calendars
Must be a team player as we maneuver many moving parts
Must feel confident in leading fittings and meetings
Must feel confident working one on one with directors and outside influencers/celebrities
7+ years of experience in fully fashioned knitwear
