About The Position

The Kitting Operator operates machines and tools used in manufacturing processes to achieve production targets. They transform raw materials into finished goods and ensure component flow, performing changeovers and setups according to the production schedule, conducting quality checks, and documenting results as required by quality procedures. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 1-2 years of related work experience.
  • Completion of high school or equivalent is usually required.
  • Good communication skills, ability to interact in a very dynamic and diverse environment.
  • Basic computer skills to operate scanners, download work orders, print labels and analyze work instructions.
  • Physical requirements: standing, walking, handling materials, reaching, bending, sometimes requires lifting up to 40 pounds, moderate noise.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fixing the identified issues in manufacturing equipment and machines, maintaining activity logs for machines, and keeping a final product or output record.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery.
  • Addressing equipment failures, calibrating errors, and reporting them to management in a timely manner.
  • Evaluating the performance, comparing it with the established production quality and standards, and reporting the variations encountered.
  • Performing changeovers and setups per the production schedule, preparing and assembling component substances, parts, and materials, and escalation of issues affecting the schedule.
  • Pack & kit packing orders to customer specifications while maintaining speed, accuracy and quality.
  • Operate minor equipment such as auto baggers and weighers.
  • Sorting, picking and selecting required material.
  • Achieve performance targets of productivity, quality and cost.
  • Register transactions in a bar code/scanner computer system.
  • Proper material handling and packaging that requires operation of a pallet jack.
  • Accurate physical count of material quantity to resolve discrepancies.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
