The position involves maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen outlets by bending, reaching, lifting, sweeping and mopping of floors and other duties that are assigned by the Assistant Executive Steward or the Executive Steward.

Requirements

• Ability to operate dish machines, glass machines, floor scrubbers, and burnishing machine.
• Ability to understand verbal English to comprehend basic guest requests.
• Ability to understand written English to read any caution, safety notices and supervisor's verbal/written instructions.
• Ability to understand verbal English in case of emergency situations.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to comprehend product labeling instruction to enable the safe application of products and processes with the Hotel.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with management and other employees.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to complete production and job requirements.
• Ability to perform duties within cold/normal/hot temperatures.
• Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use mops, brooms, scrapers and sort silverware.

Responsibilities

• Wash all types of dishes and glasses; lift racks, plate stacks, bus pans and silverware weighing a maximum of 40 pounds to shoulder height.
• Clean floors, mats and drains for sanitary reasons using mops, brooms, scrapers, scrubbers and chemicals.
• Clean stainless steel or wipe down with soap and water.
• Remove dirty dishes from the cook's line and take to dish room for cleaning and restock cook's line with clean dishes.
• Maintain the cleanliness of employee's bathrooms by sweeping, mopping, scouring, and overall cleaning by bending, kneeling and crouching.
• Clean and polish the silverware and hollowware on a daily basis or as needed for functions by lifting silverware, hollowware and bus pans weighing a maximum of 40 pounds above the waist.
