About The Position

We are looking to hire a hard-working kitchen helper to clean, stock, and maintain the kitchen as well as help with the preparation of meal ingredients. The kitchen helper’s responsibilities includes retrieving ingredients from the refrigerator, freezer, and stockroom, measuring ingredients as per the cook's instructions, and removing leftovers from patrons’ plates, bowls, and glasses. You should also be able to ensure that all work areas are properly sanitized. To be successful as a kitchen helper, you should demonstrate sound knowledge of proper food handling procedures and remove expired or spoiled ingredients from the refrigerator, freezer, and stockroom. Ultimately, an outstanding kitchen helper should be able to follow all food health and safety regulations and display exceptional organizational skills to ensure the timely completion of kitchen duties.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software for scheduling and communication.
  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Greet residents and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor.
  • Assist residents with inquiries, requests, and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate transportation services and schedule appointments for residents.
  • Organize and promote social activities and events within the community.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of community services and resources available to residents.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure a seamless experience for residents and their families.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including managing correspondence and maintaining records.
  • All members of the team, like family, serve our residents at mealtime.
  • A nice break each day.
