What You’ll Do: Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas by operating dishwashing equipment, cleaning food preparation areas, and supporting daily food service operations. This role ensures compliance with health and safety standards while helping create a safe and welcoming dining experience for clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors. Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Kitchen Utility Technician / Dishwasher maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and dining environment for clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors. This role supports daily food service operations by ensuring dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas meet health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, and kitchen tools.
  • Sort, rinse, load, run, and unload dishwashing machines according to sanitation standards.
  • Monitor dishwashing machine temperatures to ensure sanitary cycles.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing station and surrounding kitchen areas.
  • Clean food preparation and production areas as needed.
  • Follow the master cleaning schedule to maintain sanitation standards.
  • Sort and stack clean dishes and transport them to appropriate storage areas.
  • Maintain adequate supply of clean tableware for kitchen and dining operations.
  • Follow all health department regulations and food handling guidelines.
  • Safely handle tableware and equipment to prevent breakage or loss.
  • Remove trash and transport waste to designated dumpster areas.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with kitchen staff and other departments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support kitchen operations.
