About The Position

The Kitchen Utility Person supports daily kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with basic food preparation, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment. This role is essential to the efficiency of the kitchen and helps ensure high standards of sanitation and food safety are met.

Requirements

  • No formal education required; prior kitchen or janitorial experience is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40–50 lbs
  • Comfortable working in hot, wet, and noisy environments
  • Commercial kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, and cleaning chemicals

Nice To Haves

  • prior kitchen or janitorial experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand
  • Keep kitchen areas, storage rooms, and equipment clean and sanitized
  • Take out trash and recycling and ensure proper disposal procedures
  • Assist kitchen staff with basic food prep (e.g., washing, peeling, chopping ingredients) as needed
  • Clean floors, walls, counters, and workstations
  • Stock supplies such as dishes, utensils, and cleaning materials
  • Assist with putting away the incoming food deliveries
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Support cooks and chefs during busy service periods
  • Report maintenance or safety issues to supervisors
  • Additional duties as assigned
