About The Position

The Kitchen Utility Person supports daily kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with basic food preparation, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment. This role is essential to the efficiency of the kitchen and helps ensure high standards of sanitation and food safety are met.

Requirements

No formal education required; prior kitchen or janitorial experience is a plus
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Good communication skills
Ability to stand for long periods
Ability to lift and carry up to 40–50 lbs
Comfortable working in hot, wet, and noisy environments
Commercial kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, and cleaning chemicals

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand
Keep kitchen areas, storage rooms, and equipment clean and sanitized
Take out trash and recycling and ensure proper disposal procedures
Assist kitchen staff with basic food prep (e.g., washing, peeling, chopping ingredients) as needed
Clean floors, walls, counters, and workstations
Stock supplies such as dishes, utensils, and cleaning materials
Assist with putting away the incoming food deliveries
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
Support cooks and chefs during busy service periods
Report maintenance or safety issues to supervisors
