About The Position

Midland Care Connection Midland Care Connection is a not-for-profit, community-based organization dedicated to helping older adults and seriously ill individuals stay independent and supported in their homes. Established in 1978, we offer a full continuum of care, including hospice, palliative care, home health, grief and loss counseling, and our signature PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program. Our mission centers on "meeting individual needs through innovative care solutions," and we serve people across multiple counties in northeast Kansas. Meals on Wheels Midland Care’s Meals on Wheels program in Topeka, Kansas, is a vital service that delivers hot, nutritious meals and wellness-checks to homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities in Shawnee, Jefferson, and Douglas counties. The program prioritizes individuals at high nutritional risk and is not income-based, allowing anyone who meets the age or homebound criteria to participate. With the help of hundreds of volunteers who deliver meals Monday–Friday, Midland Care supports independence, reduces social isolation, and ensures older adults receive balanced meals in the comfort of their homes. Kitchen Tech Supports daily meal service by assisting with food preparation, plating, packing hot and cold meals, and ensuring meals are ready on time for distribution. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen by washing dishes and equipment, managing trash, stocking storage areas, and following food safety standards, including ServSafe practices.
