Midland Care Connection Midland Care Connection is a not for profit, community-based organization dedicated to helping older adults and seriously ill individuals stay independent and supported in their homes. Established in 1978, we offer a full continuum of care, including hospice, palliative care, home health, grief and loss counseling, and our signature PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program. Our mission centers on "meeting individual needs through innovative care solutions," and we serve people across multiple counties in northeast Kansas. Hospice House A peaceful, 12 bed, in patient facility dedicated to providing compassionate, end-of-life care when a home setting is no longer feasible. Here, patients receive around the clock, skilled hospice care from a multidisciplinary team—nurses, social workers, chaplains, and other specialists—focused on managing pain and symptoms with dignity and respect. The environment is designed to feel like home, offering comfort not just to the patients but also to their loved ones, providing space for visitation, emotional support, and moments of peace in the final chapter of life. Residential Program A 14-bed program designed to provide a supportive, home-like environment for individuals with complex health needs. As part of a nonprofit organization focused on compassionate, person-centered care, the facility offers assistance with daily living activities and medical support. With its smaller size, the program is able to deliver more individualized attention while maintaining a warm, community-oriented atmosphere that promotes dignity, comfort, and quality of life. Kitchen Supervisor Manages daily kitchen operations while also preparing meals tailored to patients’ needs. This role involves cooking, supervising staff, handling inventory, and ensuring strict food safety standards, much like a traditional kitchen lead. However, it also includes working closely with healthcare staff to adjust meals based on medical conditions and patient preferences, with a strong focus on comfort and quality of life. Unlike a typical restaurant job, the emphasis is less on speed and volume and more on compassion, flexibility, and creating a supportive, home-like environment for patients and their families.
