Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; or four years of food and/or manufacturing related experience.
  • Active listening skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to give and receive personal feedback constructively.
  • Demonstrated patience and calmness under pressure.
  • Ability to train others to perform to standards.
  • Familiarity with Windows Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read, write and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and compute rates and percentages.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role in a food production environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the group to excel; ensuring and enhancing performance and exceptional quality.
  • Focus on continuous improvement, planning, and organizing multiple units for success.
  • Work across the organization and with multiple departments and functions.
  • Create a vision for the group and help effect change.
  • Track employees' planned and unplanned absences, tardiness, and overtime.
  • Optimize the number of full-time employees to reduce labor costs.
  • Evaluate employee performance through ongoing feedback and annual reviews.
  • Initiate the disciplinary process when necessary.
  • Review and submit payroll.
  • Provide guidance and direction to Leads.
  • Create staffing scheduling.
  • Coach Leads and employees to stop processes when quality issues arise.
  • Lead problem-solving meetings to involve employees in creating solutions.
  • Interview and select employees for regular employment.
  • Motivate and lead employees to meet and exceed goals.
  • Monitor product quality and ensure no substandard product is processed.
  • Initiate and lead efforts to continuously improve; maximize yield and minimize waste.
  • Maintain accurate records of frozen leftover WIPS.
  • Audit practices on the floor for adherence to written procedures.
  • Monitor equipment downtime and work with Maintenance to resolve issues.
  • Complete department reports including material usage, waste, downtime, and attendance.
  • Document procedures for standardization and training purposes.
  • Maintain employee training records and weekly/monthly reports.
  • Analyze waste, downtime, and yields to identify opportunities for improvement.
