About The Position

Kitchen Steward position is primarily responsible for the overall cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment and supplies within the Arc Culinary department. Arc Broward is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of people with developmental disabilities and other life challenges.

Requirements

• Experience as a steward or in a commercial kitchen preferred .
• Must successfully complete required screening: Level II background check, physical and drug screen.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Effective communication skills with verbal and written English fluency is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen and food preparation areas, including ovens, grills, stoves, hoods, fryers, floors, etc.
• Stock all supplies as directed by Executive Chef, Sous Chef and cook positions.
• Maintain a pace of work, which allows supplies and equipment to be cleaned and put in their proper place, which meets business demands.
• Understand the proper use of chemicals.
