About The Position

As a Kitchen Steward in our Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen. Your major end result will be to maintain a high standard of hygiene and sanitation in the kitchen, ensuring that all equipment and utensils are clean and ready for use. You will also be responsible for assisting the kitchen team in basic food preparation and ensuring that all food safety regulations are adhered to.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of basic food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in food safety and sanitation
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment, such as dishwashers and food processors
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and mopping floors
  • Assist the kitchen team in basic food preparation, such as chopping vegetables and preparing salads
  • Ensure that all equipment and utensils are clean and ready for use
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Report any maintenance or repair issues to the kitchen supervisor
