About The Position

The Kitchen Staff position involves preparing breakfast and/or lunch offerings, assisting with serving lines, and participating in occasional catering functions. The role requires performing all positions within the kitchen and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 60 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
• Certification in food safety or handling.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at the required temperature.
• Assist in the preparation of foods according to the menu plan and Opaa! recipes.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and grinders with proper certification.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, including equipment and dishes.
• Keep inventory organized and practice First In/First Out (FIFO) procedures.
• Requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager.
• Prepare baked goods as required by the menu plan.
• Batch cook to maintain quality product and presentation.
• Serve food items with proper serving sizes and utensils.
• Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and record keeping.
• Handle customer transactions and complete necessary paperwork.
