About The Position

Kitchen Staff Cook Everyone loves food! Do you love cooking and want to feed people? Well, we have the job for you! Logan River Academy has an open part-time afternoon and weekend shift kitchen staff cook position now. 20+ hours per week. WHO WE ARE: Logan River Academy is a residential treatment center and fully accredited school for adolescent youth ages 12-18. We help students struggling with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues, including autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, oppositional behavior, bipolar disorder, PTSD, depression, ADHD, impulse control, peer pressure, anger management, self-esteem, grief/loss issues, family relationships, communication, academic struggles, or other setbacks in their lives. Our mission is to provide support and structure that helps these students make informed choices, achieve success, and access the necessary academic and therapeutic assistance. At LRA, we're committed to providing quality care and mentoring for youth with autism and other mental health disorders. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Energetic entry-level or experienced cook who works well with others and demonstrates patience with adolescents. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Good communication skills: Listening, Speaking, and Collaborating.
  • Energetic and Resilient.
  • Patient and Compassionate.
  • Be able to pass a Background Check (Required).
  • Physically able to bend, stand, stoop, or sit for long periods of time.
  • Continuously use hands for simple and firm grasping and fine manipulation.
  • Carry and lift up 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer one year of previous experience in any commercial kitchen setting, but will train the right candidate.
  • If you have a passion for helping others and making a difference in their lives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepping and serving meals.
  • Washing dishes after meals.
  • Ensures the care and cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area, including general cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and taking out garbage.
  • Daily deep cleaning during designated hours.
  • Coordinating with coworkers for future meal preparation.
  • Communicating with clients and understanding their needs while adhering to company guidelines, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and keeping them engaged.
  • Communicating with additional staff regarding the resident's special needs and assignments.
