About The Position

Westchester Country Day School is seeking a Kitchen Server/Utility for our Food Services Department. This role performs a variety of routine duties related to the production and serving of food to students and staff in our Wilson Student Center cafeteria. This role is dynamic—you’ll be wearing many hats throughout the day. Your responsibilities include: Serving with a Smile: Manning the serving line to provide nutritious meals to students (K-12) while maintaining a friendly, positive attitude. Prep Work: Assisting the Head Cook with basic food preparation (chopping veggies, assembling sandwiches, portioning snacks). The "Utility" Factor: Keeping the engine running by helping with dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, and clearing tables. Heavy Lifting: Managing garbage removal and breaking down boxes to keep the loading dock and kitchen tidy. Safety First: Maintaining strict health and safety standards to ensure every meal served is safe and delicious. What We’re Looking For Kid Friendly: You genuinely enjoy being around children and teenagers. You understand that for some kids, you might be the brightest part of their school day. Reliability: You show up ready to work. Our students count on us every day! Experience: Previous food service or janitorial experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude. Physical Stamina: You’re comfortable being on your feet for the duration of your shift and can lift up to 40 lbs (garbage bags, crates of milk, etc.). Team Player: You’re happy to jump in wherever help is needed most, whether that’s at the sink or the serving window. Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage to employees and qualified dependents.
