About The Position

Join the Custer YMCA as a Mealtime Magician (aka Kitchen Manager) and bring your love for cooking into a role that feeds both bodies and hearts. Each weekday morning and afternoon, you'll help prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks to the children in our youth development programs. You'll manage the daily flow of the kitchen, from planning menus and ordering food to completing compliance documentation, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Your role will include maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming kitchen that meets or exceeds all health and safety standards. You'll take pride in keeping our space inspection-ready, with a goal of maintaining a 95% or higher rating. Monitoring cleaning supplies, upholding food safety procedures, and contributing to a calm, efficient kitchen environment will be key parts of your day. Planning ahead, you'll create healthy weekly menus that reflect a thoughtful balance of homemade and pre-packaged items. Whenever possible, you'll lean into fresh, made-from-scratch meals that support the wellness of our children. Your work will go beyond the food itself. You'll help build a warm and friendly atmosphere that reflects the welcoming spirit of the YMCA. Through professionalism, dependability, and attention to detail, you'll ensure accurate record-keeping for daily meal reports, purchases, and staff charges-maintaining the trust and integrity at the heart of our program.
