Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Knowledgeable in restaurant operations: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, personnel management, recordkeeping, and reporting.
  • Professional, polite, and maintains a neat appearance.
  • Ability to motivate team members and ensure food/service standards are met.
  • Capable of coordinating multiple activities under pressure and solving restaurant-related issues.
  • Strong leadership, management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver results and motivate a diverse team with tact and diplomacy.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Models behaviors that effectively motivate, lead, and develop the BOH team.
  • Maintains a positive reputation in the community.
  • Scheduling may vary and include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
  • 2–3 years of kitchen operations experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant/bar environment, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds (e.g., produce cases, bulk ingredients).
  • Able to bend, reach, and lift items of at least 40 pounds overhead for storage.
  • Able to transport food and utensils weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • May occasionally be required to lift more than 40 pounds.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, pinching, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motion.
  • Inside environment: protected from weather but not necessarily from temperature fluctuations.
  • Exposure to high heat and temperature changes causing noticeable bodily reactions.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, trains, and mentors food preparation staff including recruitment, hiring, coaching, development, evaluations, and progressive discipline.
  • Collaborates on the creation, management, and operation within departmental budgets and expense plans to maximize revenue and profits.
  • Schedules team members under supervision while maintaining staffing levels in line with labor standards.
  • Supervises all cooking operations, including methods, portioning, and garnishing.
  • Plans meals and develops menus when needed.
  • Manages safe alcohol serving certifications and upholds all guidelines.
  • Oversees and maintains appropriate inventory levels.
  • Schedules equipment maintenance and cleaning.
  • Adheres to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs (food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor).
  • Assists the management team with shift management functions in both front and back of house.
  • Ensures 100% recipe adherence and plating specifications.
  • Maintains health and sanitation standards and a clean, safe working environment.
  • Prepares food products using standardized techniques.
  • Visibly recognizes food quality and proper cooking temperatures.
  • Supports team member recognition and engagement programs.
  • Reports to work for scheduled shifts, on time and in uniform, per company policy.
  • Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Embraces O’Reach, Green Team, Guest Service, Team Member Satisfaction, Health & Wellness, and Safety culture.
  • Performs other duties as required or requested.
