About The Position

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all standards set by Opaa! Food Management, Inc. are met and maintained. This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with safety and health regulations while promoting a high level of customer service. The Kitchen Manager will monitor food preparation processes to uphold quality standards in terms of preparation, presentation, and sanitation. They will also handle customer service issues by investigating and resolving any complaints related to food quality and service. In addition to food production, the Kitchen Manager will coordinate the preparation and transportation of meals to various satellite buildings as necessary. This position requires strong supervisory skills, as the Kitchen Manager will conduct daily safety and production meetings with kitchen staff, ensuring that all team members are aligned with Opaa's Core Values, which emphasize acting in the best interest of students and communities, honesty, a passion for service, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The Kitchen Manager will supervise kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and address any personnel issues promptly. Training and certifying kitchen staff in various job functions is also a key responsibility, along with maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and storage areas. Compliance is a significant aspect of this role, as the Kitchen Manager must ensure adherence to Opaa! recipes and menu plans, report any discrepancies in timekeeping, and maintain compliance with HACCP processes, as well as local and state health regulations. Administrative duties include coordinating food and supply orders, maintaining accurate production records, conducting inventory counts, and ensuring that all logs are completed in a timely manner. The Kitchen Manager will also maintain open communication with the building principal and participate in weekly meetings to discuss kitchen operations and updates.
