About The Position

The Kitchen Manager position is vital to the execution of kitchen standards as well as guest satisfaction through upholding Over Easy’s philosophies and guidelines. The Kitchen Manager oversees food preparation, menu planning, and directing kitchen staff. This can include a significant degree of supervision as the Kitchen Manager will help with menu decisions and inventory management while being an influential member of a restaurant. Maintaining a valid ServSafe certification is a requirement for this position as it allows for safe handling and maintenance of food both in preparation and execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year work experience managing a restaurant with a staff of 10+.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Able to communicate clear and effectively.
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to fifty pounds.
  • Able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
  • Exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and achieves the highest standards in the overall operation of food and service areas in the restaurant.
  • Directs and supervises proper staffing, service, product quality and guest satisfaction in harmony with Over Easy’s Core Values.
  • Directs and supervises a well maintained, clean and safe facility, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Leads by example, maintains strong leadership, organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively.
  • Oversees and works alongside all BOH staff.
  • Assists in the training process and is the primary lead in training and overseeing development of new staff.
  • Works alongside and supports restaurant Kitchen Managers during busy periods.
  • Conducts ongoing training in areas of service, food, and personality for staff.
  • Oversees implementation and maintenance of all Over Easy service standards.
  • Ensures compliance with all Over Easy’s standards, procedures, methods, and techniques.
  • Oversees accuracy, quality and timeliness of all dishes leaving the kitchen.
  • Maintains impeccable knowledge of Over Easy menu, dishes, ingredients, and recipes.
  • Ensures 'First-In, First-Out' rotation system and verifies all food products are properly labeled, stored, and organized for quality assurance.
  • Assists in menu planning, inventory, and management of supplies.
  • Oversees compliance with all Over Easy sanitation, health and safety standards and injury prevention standards.
  • Helps maintain and clean and safe work environment.
  • Creates and maintains a positive work environment where all employees feel comfortable and are treated with respect.
  • Keeps moral high and staff having fun.
  • Maintains the overall look of the Over Easy Brand.
  • Offers suggestions and creative ideas to help approve upon BOH performance.
  • Assists and ensures proper food and beverage cost controls and procedures.
  • Assists and ensures proper labor with timely cutting.
  • Conducts daily pre-shifts.
  • Completes daily paperwork if needed.
  • Communicates in a timely manner via email or text to managers and owners as needed.
  • Problem solves and resolves employee conflicts, irate customers, upset vendors.
  • Utilization of software tools to record, monitor and achieve results.
