Responsibilities and Standards of Performance: Prepare meals for clients: Follow any specific dietary needs of clients. Maintain proper temperature required on all food products served. Monitor appliances to ensure they are functioning properly and keeping food at the correct temperature required. Follow all safety codes, sanitation and Infection Control procedures as required in Kitchen and protocol required with proper food service. Follow Hand washing protocol, appropriate dress with closed toe shoes, hair restraints and single use gloves when handling foods. At the end of the week, meals must be set up for week-end staff to serve to clients. Maintain quality dietary service in a cost-effective, consistent, and timely manner. Order and purchase food according to identified budget dollar amounts. Maintain Kitchen and Stock rooms to successfully pass inspection by local Department of Health jurisdiction. Demonstrate knowledge and actions to take in case of a fire or disaster. Knows location and how to use fire extinguisher. Train individuals working in kitchen on proper Safety. Sanitation and Infection Control protocols. Knowledges, Skills and Abilities: Must maintain a current Kitchen Manager Certificate. Be able to stand the majority of the day, must be physically able to reach, stoop, bend, lift, carry and manipulate various food products. Must be able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds, withstand exposure to temperature and humidity changes, working at ovens and steamer and dish/utensil sanitizer. The ability to work independently The ability to recognize individual and system problems and to communicate such information the supervisor Excellent time management skills. Strong organizational skills. Minimum Education and Experience: High School Graduate Qualifies as a Mental Health Practitioner 245I.04 Subdivision 4(a-d) or Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker as identified in 245I.04 Subdivision 14(a-b). Must be able to obtain within 3 months and maintain a current Kitchen Manager Certificate through Minnesota Department of Health. Thrive will pay for training and certification. Possess 3 – 5 years’ experience in food service Must have a sincere desire to work with and promote the delivery of culturally competent services to individuals with mental health concerns. Minimum Education and Experience: High School Graduate Must be able to obtain within 3 months and maintain a current Kitchen Manager Certificate through Minnesota Department of Health. Possess 3 – 5 years’ experience in food service Must have a sincere desire to work with and promote the delivery of culturally competent services to individuals with mental health concerns.
