Job Summary: Libbey's Coastal Kitchen and Cocktails is seeking a skilled and passionate Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary operations. This role oversees all aspects of kitchen operations, from food preparation and presentation to staff management and quality control, ensuring the highest standards in every dish we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily food production and preparation, ensuring all dishes meet Libbey's quality standards and specifications
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, fostering a secure, collaborative, and motivating work environment
  • Coordinate with Sous Chef and culinary team on daily requirements, special functions, and menu execution
  • Estimate production needs and manage inventory, ensuring availability of supplies and approved substitutions for timely preparation
  • Ensure production, preparation, and presentation of all food items consistently meet the highest quality standards
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, recipes, production methods, and presentation standards, staying current with new culinary products and techniques
  • Monitor and maintain proper food handling, storage, and preservation techniques at appropriate temperatures
  • Ensure compliance with all sanitation standards, health codes, and safety regulations throughout kitchen operations
  • Operate, maintain, and report on all kitchen equipment, addressing malfunctions promptly
  • Plan food production schedules to coordinate with service hours, preserving food excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships across all departments
  • Conduct regular quality control assessments, collect daily feedback, and address issues as they arise
  • Lead by example in personal hygiene, cleanliness, professionalism, and adherence to all operational standards
