Lead Cook/Chef Lighthouse Bar and Grill is seeking a reliable chef who is able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights and weekends. Must have clean background and reliable transportation. Our Lead cook will oversee, and perform duties that make up the daily process of running the kitchen and managing food preparation within our restaurant. They will direct kitchen staff and handle all food-related issues, including checking up on food supplies, planning menus, and creating new recipes. Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for the kitchen staffing, inventory, waste management and product ordering. As kitchen lead you will also be responsible for the safe and compliant operation of the kitchen in conjunction with the General Manager. Kitchen leads are also responsible for the proper cooking, preparing, and stocking of food items. Line cooking, prepping, and expediting are also all part of your duties. Kitchen Leads must also assist with all kitchen duties, along with ensuring shifts are adequately covered and fulfilled. Qualifications 3+ years in a kitchen environment. Degree in the Culinary Arts (preferred) Ability to manage an entire kitchen. Incredible food preparation abilities. Ability to handle multiple tasks at once. Deep knowledge of the food industry and trends. Excellent time management skills. Ability to create new menu item Strong multitasking and organizational skills. Understanding of different culinary profiles and techniques. Capable of following instructions without variation. A desire to learn new flavors and techniques. The capability to work safely, efficiently, and neatly. Willingness to work nights and weekends. Physically able to stand and move around for long periods of time.
