The Fire Suppression Technician performs a broad range of maintenance, repair, and installation support, also incorporating inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of kitchen hood suppression systems and portable fire extinguishers. Requirements

  • High School Diploma and two (2) years experience.
  • Pre-engineered Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems Permit and Portable Fire Extinguisher Permit preferred
  • Drivers License and clean MVR required.
  • Microsoft Office, including Work and Excel.
  • Pre-employment Drug screen & Clean MVR; overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting and repairing pre-engineered restaurant fire suppression systems.
  • Thorough understanding of NFPA, manufacturer and local fire codes for restaurant fire suppression systems.
  • Perform system repairs which includes installation of nozzles and piping and installation, removal or replacement of agent cylinders
  • Perform inspection, service, repair and maintenance of wet and dry chemical fire extinguishing systems/portable fire extinguishers.
  • Identifying potentially unfavorable site condition that could compromise the performance of mechanical and/or components of the system.
  • Performing on-site emergency troubleshooting of fire suppression systems.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all work performed.
