This position involves assisting the cook in the preparation of meals and maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar role or a passion for a career in a kitchen
• A food handler's license is preferred
• Basic knife skills
• The ability to stand for extended periods of time
• The ability to safely use kitchen equipment and appliances
• Sound knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Flexible in the way you think and adapting quickly and efficiently to stressful situations

Responsibilities

• Assist cook in the preparation of meals and general kitchen and dining area sanitation
• Inspect work areas daily to ensure they are kept well organized and clean including store room, refrigerators, freezers, service areas and dining rooms
• Clean equipment, refrigerators, counter tops, and other food preparation and storage areas
• Wash dishes, sweep and mop floors, remove trash, clean and sanitize tables and service areas
• Set up dining room tables
• Keep service line supplied with dishes, utensils, and food during service times
• Other duties as assigned
