About The Position

Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) is looking for drivers to perform all food and non-food deliveries to partner agencies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, loading and unloading van for deliveries to and from pickup sites. Must have valid driver's license and be at least 21 years old to apply.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required or related experience.
  • Food Safety Certification or ability to be certified in Food Safety as provided by the Mid-Ohio Food Collective.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must have good customer service skills, strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maneuver van in non-industrial areas.
  • Ability to represent MOFC in communications with member agencies and donors.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to attend work on time and is consistently dependable.
  • Ability to manage challenges and conflict in a professional manner.
  • Ability to pass a mobility/lift assessment.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of experience of delivery driving preferred.
  • Experience with food products and refrigerated freight preferred.
  • Working knowledge of delivery vans.
  • Kitchen experience as well as warehouse machinery operations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that each customer receives outstanding customer service and always maintains professional standards.
  • Assists in gathering and packing components for meal deliveries while following required food safety guidelines.
  • Drives van to pick-up and deliver products to various partner sites daily.
  • Loads and unloads van for deliveries to and from pickups.
  • Completes documents associated with each pickup and delivery including inspections and compliance of records such as, but not limited to, time and temperature records.
  • Inspects, cleans, and maintains vehicles, including transporting vehicle to & from repair shops.
  • Operates, maintains, and properly cleans all delivery equipment.
  • Utilizes proper receiving, rotation, and storage procedures to ensure safe food handling and wholesomeness of product
  • Notifies Kitchen Manager in advance of likely shortages before meal services and large batch preparations
  • Willingness to work with volunteers to include providing guidance and ensuring that food and personal safety standards are adhered to
  • Other duties as assigned
