About The Position

Supervision and Leadership: Supervise and direct kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and other kitchen personnel. Train and mentor kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and kitchen operations. Motivate and inspire the kitchen team to maintain high standards of performance and productivity. Manage and delegate tasks to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations. Food Preparation and Quality: Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality. Follow recipes and adhere to established standards for food preparation and cooking. Maintain accurate inventory of food items and supplies. Safety and Hygiene: Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations and standards. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Monitor and maintain proper storage and handling of food items. Ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working order and alert management of any malfunctions. Coordination and Communication: Communicate effectively with the kitchen team, front-of-house staff, and management. Coordinate with the Store Manager and Culinary Department on menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen operations. Address and resolve any issues or concerns that arise in the kitchen. Other Duties: May be responsible for ordering food supplies and managing inventory. May assist with scheduling and managing staff time off. May be involved in developing new recipes or menu items.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Ability to train and mentor kitchen staff.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
