A Brief Overview The Kitchen & Bath Design Manager oversees the daily operations of the department, providing leadership and guidance to a team of designers. This role requires deep knowledge of the products offered, a strong business portfolio, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service. The manager is responsible for maintaining communication with customers and builders to ensure projects are completed on schedule, as well as developing new business through account outreach and job-site visits. What you will do Manage the Kitchen & Bath Department and designers. Solicit new accounts, conduct job site visits, and prospect for new projects. Greet clients to the design center, assess client needs and assist the customer with product selection and order appropriate materials and quantities for the projects. Conduct pre-construction site inspections and measurements. Perform automated design capability within stock and custom product categories. Conduct bid and prep proposal function with particular focus on custom projects. Arrange project schedules, sub contractor schedules and material deliveries. Act as the liaison between the customer, materials vendors and subcontractors. Review assigned accounts to ensure payments and credits are processed in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain current knowledge of daily and monthly sales and their relationship to the margin goals. Understand all aspects of customer billing cycle, cash vs. credit, and how to figure and process a deposit by having a thorough knowledge of the paperwork flow and distribution process. Maintain an active file of new and existing customers. Maintain a clean, neat, professional looking show room by ensuring all vendor literature is maintained and presented in a clean and neat fashion. Coordinate the delivery to contractor-remodeler customers on an as needed basis. Available for semi-annual inventory. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pricing multipliers and lead times for all cabinet lines, countertop fabricators, and related products. Understand the receiving process and the paperwork associated with the process. Call vendors to follow up on any backordered items. Stay knowledgeable about warranty coverage for all product lines and coordinate warranty-related orders upon customer request. Required For All Jobs Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • 100 hours of NKBA professional development programming required.
  • Degree in Interior design or related field required.
  • 10 years of Kitchen & Bath industry experience required.
  • Advanced computer-aided drafting skills, salesmanship, good verbal communication skills and design presentation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of kitchen and bathroom design and all aspects of design and construction process.
  • Extensive knowledge of building materials and construction practices
  • Advanced knowledge of products in order to explain the differences and nuances in cabinet lines to customers
  • CKD certification required upon hire.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in the state of sales activity required upon hire.
