About The Position

The Kitchen Assistant prepares nutritious snacks and lunches for preschool students.

Requirements

• Ability to follow directions
• Able to count, sort and organize inventory
• Willing to learn to use basic kitchen equipment
• Willing to learn basic food preparation skills
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to stand for at least duration of shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds for short distances and up to 35 pounds on occasion
• Dexterity to type, serve, cut, lift, write and use hands and legs to complete the tasks of the position

Responsibilities

• Counting, sorting and portioning snacks and lunch items for preschool students (no cooking required)
• Delivering food to preschool classrooms
• General kitchen cleaning, dishwashing and organization
• Process and organize weekly food deliveries
