The Buehler’s Assistant Kitchen Manager is responsible for all aspects of Front of House (FOH) or the dining area to ensure that our loyal customers have an exceptional dining experience each and every time they choose to dine with us. This position requires working closely with our Food Service team to ensure that each meal is delivered to the customer in a timely manner. The Restaurant Lead will support the Tipped Server by assisting with seating, drink orders, and bussing. Restaurant Leads will not take tables from start to finish. A typical day for an Assistant Kitchen Manager may include: Greet and seat our customers in a timely manner as they enter the restaurant Ensure the customer is timely greeted by the server, a drink order is taken and assist if needed Ensure the tables are cleaned and sanitized promptly after customers leave and assist busser as needed Assist with server duties to ensure customer satisfaction and overall efficiency Hire, onboard and train new employees for FOH, along with ongoing training for existing employees Schedule FOH employees to ensure proper coverage for the lunch and dinner rush and during special holidays Schedule FOH employees and possibly attend catering events as needed Responsible for employee recognition, retention and engagement Assist BOH as needed with catering, food prep including operating the grill, fryers, and related equipment Set-up, organize, and prepare food using established production procedures and systems if needed Comply with sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards, and housekeeping to keep all work areas clean Observe proper food handling techniques and pass required food safety courses Store food properly and safely, mark and date item Follow procedures for keeping yourself, our customers, and coworkers safe Responsible for ordering, maintaining stock levels and inventories “Table Touches” to make sure we exceed customer expectations Uphold Buehler’s policies regarding a workplace free of harassment, bullying and discrimination Work with Food Service Manager to meet financial goals, control waste and assist with inventories In some locations, assist with Community Room duties Other duties as directed or assigned to support total store operations
