About The Position

Prepare a cost estimate and production plan for kitting jobs using the most economical method of manufacturing including cost of all materials and labor required. This position is an integral part of the team who will be responsible for understanding the packing and shipping requirements for each client.

Requirements

  • College degree in Packaging, Business Administration, and or equivalent experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all kitting processes and purchasing.
  • Must have intermediate (3-5+ years) of Microsoft Excel experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Capacity to communicate and work with supervisors and leads in all departments.
  • Broad knowledge of current kitting equipment and configurations and most efficient methods for producing each kit.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Complete knowledge of carton types, styles and materials.
  • Ability to read and understand oral/written instructions.
  • Ability to write clear concise technical instructions in job ticket for all areas of production.
  • Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fractions.

Responsibilities

  • Based on specifications from Account Executives and Account Managers, estimate the cost of materials and labor utilizing kit calculator, budget pricing or by building a standard estimate in Monarch.
  • Determine the production centers required to produce the job as specified. Develop a strategy to accommodate all facets of the job.
  • Evaluate all methods available for producing the job and select the plan which produces the job in the most efficient and economical way.
  • Collaborate with vendors in obtaining best prices for materials.
  • Research and recommend potential cost savings.
  • Actively work with Sales and Account Managers to improve quality and/or lower the price of kits.
  • Use ERP, internal documents, and customer supplied data to prepare estimates.
  • Read and understand RFQ’s.
  • Read and comprehend estimate. Compare estimate to kit instruction file. Reconcile any changes between job and estimate.
  • Create detailed production instructions.
  • Route jobs through C.A.D. department as needed.
  • Calculate corrugate and or cartons as well as all other materials required for kit.
  • Create purchase requisitions for materials and outside services.
  • Allocate house materials.
  • Plan job using current Monarch ERP system.
  • Work with coworkers and department supervisors to produce the best quality product possible.
  • Other duties as assigned.
