About The Position
The Kirk Middle School Head Cheer Advisor is responsible for organizing and supervising the cheerleading program at W.H. Kirk Middle School. This position requires a coach who has previous successful coaching experience in cheerleading and possesses substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport. The head coach must also be committed to continuous learning and improvement in coaching techniques and strategies. The role involves serving as a positive role model for student athletes, demonstrating behaviors that promote character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride in accomplishments. The head coach will work closely with the athletic director and high school principals to ensure the program aligns with the overall objectives of the school’s athletic department. In addition to coaching responsibilities, the head cheer advisor will oversee a staff of high school assistant coaches and middle school coaches, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of the cheer program. The coach will be responsible for instructing athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for individual and team success. The position also entails managing various administrative duties, including scheduling practices and events, ensuring compliance with state and league regulations, and maintaining proper documentation for athlete eligibility and safety. The head cheer advisor will also play a crucial role in public relations, promoting the cheer program within the school and the community, and maintaining positive relationships with parents, media, and other stakeholders. The coach will be expected to participate in budgeting for the program, manage equipment, and ensure the safety and cleanliness of facilities used by the cheer team. Overall, this position is vital for fostering a positive and successful cheerleading program that contributes to the school’s athletic reputation and community image.
