About The Position

The KidSuccess Program is a school-based mental health therapy program that serves students, parents, and school staff in 15 Denver Public Schools and one private school. This internship offers a rich learning opportunity for graduate students to explore, foster, and cultivate their clinical skills while providing in-person therapeutic services. The KidSuccess Program serves a diverse student population, and we strive to meet individual needs with cultural sensitivity. The KidSuccess Program is open to any student regardless of cultural background, religion, socioeconomic status, insurance status, or immigration status. KidSuccess Therapist Intern (Concentration year/final year internship/practicum) stipend available. Requirements

Must be attending an education program.
Must be in the second/final year of their graduate program to be considered for the stipend.
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (proof required), subject to legally required exemptions.

Responsibilities

Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling to students and their families.
Provide school-staff groups/trainings depending on the school's needs.
Utilizing an electronic medical record for billing (Medicaid compliance)
Completing mental health assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and measure outcome tools
Creating treatment plans/objectives/goals
Completion of progress notes within the allocated time
Consulting and collaborating with teachers, social workers, counselors, psychologists, nurses, and school administrators within the school setting.
Facilitate referrals to community agencies when appropriate
Provide consultation for specific problems
Make referrals to therapists outside of school for evaluation or treatment when indicated.
