KIDS SMR EVENT CO-DIRECTOR/BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTIONIST
About The Position
Dream Centers of Michigan is seeking a strong and compassionate leader to serve as Co-Director / Behavioral Interventionist for our 5-week Kids Club Summer Edition program. This program serves students in grades 1–5 through academic support, creative expression, and social development. This role partners closely with the Youth Education Program Manager to support daily operations while ensuring a safe, structured, and supportive environment for all students. The Co-Director / Behavioral Interventionist plays a key role in strengthening classroom management, supporting staff, and implementing proactive behavioral strategies that promote student success.
Requirements
- Experience working with elementary-aged students (grades 1–5)
- Background in behavioral intervention, student support, or classroom leadership required
- Strong skills in behavior management, de-escalation, and staff coaching
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
- Passion for youth development and creating positive student experiences
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred
Responsibilities
- Support daily operations and site leadership alongside the Program Manager
- Provide coaching and support to staff in classroom management and behavior strategies
- Implement and monitor behavioral support plans and interventions
- Respond to and de-escalate student behavioral situations in real time
- Assist with scheduling, classroom coverage, and team support
- Float between classrooms to ensure consistency and support across the program
- Participate in all program activities, including field trips
